Dr. Jerry Spivak is currently a Professor of Medicine and Oncology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Spivak is a graduate of Cornell University Medical College and received training in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Oncology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, New York Hospital, and the National Cancer Institute. Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Hematology, Dr. Spivak was Director of the Hematology Division at Johns Hopkins from 1980 to 1992. He is currently the Director of the Johns Hopkins Center for The Chronic Myeloproliferative Disorders. An author of over 250 publications and the recipient of a Research Career Development Award and a Merit Award from the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Spivak's research and clinical interests include erythropoiesis, erythropoietin, and the chronic myeloproliferative disorders.
