Jeroen Siero MSc

Dr. Jeroen C. W. Siero, MSc is an Associate Professor of the Vascular Imaging Group at the University Medical Center Utrecht. He completed his Master of Science at the University of Groningen. His focus is on mapping fine-scale CVR properties using blood-oxygenation-level-dependent and arterial spin labeling MRI using blood gas manipulations. Examining fine-scale CVR can be of particular importance as it is hypothesized that disturbed capillary blood flow patterns might play a crucial role in small vessel disease and in the events preceding ischemic stroke. In addition, he is interested in how cortical vascular organization and dynamics affect high-resolution functional BOLD fMRI and the interpretation of local neurovascular coupling mechanisms.
