Jeroen D.h. Van Wijngaarden

dr. (Jeroen) J.D.H. van Wijngaarden graduated in 1995 in Public Administration, where he majored in Organizational Science. I wrote my master thesis on the development of inter-organizational networks in Mental Healthcare. After graduating he started working at the Institute of Health Policy and Management at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. The first four years he spent researching the development of regional networks in health care. After that, he was involved in a multidisciplinary study on the development of integrated care for Stroke patients. In 2001 he started working on her Ph.D.thesis, which he finished in 2006. Currently, he participates in several research projects; both as a researcher and a co-supervisor of several PhD-students. Next, to my research activities, he has also been active as an adviser in different implementation projects. he has been involved with the implementation of regional health plans in different regions in the Netherlands. he has been part of a national project for the implementation of integrated care for stroke patients. Between 2003 and 2008 he has been part of a national collaborative in Healthcare called Faster Better, which aims to improve patient safety and logistics in Dutch hospitals. In this program, he has been a project leader and an advisor for improving patient logistics and he been active as an advisor in one of the participating hospitals. Finally, he also a lecturer at the Institute of Health Policy and Management. he teaches courses in strategy, management, organizational science, and qualitative research methods.
