Jeremy P. Springhorn PhD

Jeremy has more than 25 years of experience leading scientific, business development and corporate strategy. Before joining Syros, he was Partner of Corporate Development at Flagship Pioneering. Prior to Flagship, Jeremy spent more than 20 years at Alexion. He was one of the original scientists at Alexion as well as one of the original inventors of Soliris®. He moved from research to business development, ultimately becoming the Vice President of Corporate Development. In that role, Jeremy led the acquisitions of Enobia Pharma, Taligen Therapeutics and Orphatec, as well as the partnership with Moderna Therapeutics. Jeremy also served in a key strategic role as Alexion transitioned from a development-stage to a commercial-stage company. Prior to 1992, Jeremy was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. He received his Ph.D. from Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans and his B.A. from Colby College. He currently serves on the boards of directors of uniQure and Mythic Therapeutics, and belongs to the Board of Overseers of Colby College.
