Dr. Gaveau's work has mainly focused on motor planning in the gravitational field. He is Investigating arm movements in healthy humans, disabled patients, and non-human primates, he seeks to understand sophisticated processes allowing the motor system to successfully plan and control body movements in the ubiquitous gravity environment. Moreover, taking gravity-related motor control as a model of successful adaptation, I try to understand some more general processes that may be used by the motor system to efficiently plan body movements.

He routinely uses the following experimental techniques like 3D motion analysis, EMG (surface and intramuscular), Force platforms, Ergometers (BIODEX…), Prismatic Goggles, and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. He also uses theoretical simulations to try inferring the rules governing the experimentally observed behaviors.
