Dr. Jennifer Lockwood Dodson is an assistant professor of urology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Her areas of clinical expertise include urology and pediatric urology. She is a Urological consultant at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. Dr. Dodson completed her B.A. degree at Columbia College of Columbia University, with a major in Biology and a minor in Philosophy. She earned her M.D. from the University of Wisconsin Medical School. She completed her residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
She performed a fellowship in urology at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health and a fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Dodson went on to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Investigation in the Graduate Training Programs in Clinical Investigation at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Previously, Dr. Dodson was an instructor at the James Buchanan Brady Urological Institute.
Dr. Dodson’s research interests include incontinence, health-related quality of life and outcomes research. She is a member of the multidisciplinary advisory committee for the Johns Hopkins Clinical Research Scholars Program and a participant in the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Emerging Women’s Leadership program. Dr. Dodson is a member of the Graduate Training Programs in Clinical Investigation Advisory Council, advises GTPCI students and represents the program on the Committee on Academic Standards at the Bloomberg School of Public Health.
She was a writing committee member for the American Urological Association Urology Core Curriculum Task Force, Evidence-Based Medicine and Clinical Trials Section in 2007, has been a small group instructor in the Introduction to Clinical Research Course in the Department of Epidemiology for the past two years, and is a faculty member for the Ethical and Regulatory Issues in Clinical Research course offered at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. Dr. Dodson served as Secretary (2010-2012) and President (2013-2014) of the Society of Women in Urology.
