Dr. Bean received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Tennessee Martin and Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis Tennessee. She completed a pharmacy practice residency with VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System. She became board certified in pharmacotherapy in 2007 and in psychiatry in 2012. She has had experience in long-term care, medication use evaluation, Home-Based Primary Care program and mental health services at the Alvin C. York Campus. Currently, she works as the Academic Detailing Clinical Pharmacy Specialist and as Lead Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Mental Health and Pain for TVHS.
Dr. Bean is a member of the Residency Leadership Board and on the Residency Research Advisory Board for the PGY1 residency. She is the Residency Program Director for the PGY2 Residency in Psychiatry. She is an assistant professor for the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy and a clinical preceptor for Samford McWhorter School of Pharmacy, Belmont University, Lipscomb University and Union University. She has provided clinical learning experiences for over 100 students. She also mentors PGY1 and PGY2 residents.
