Dr. Jensen completed medical school at Emory University, an internship at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, and an ob/gyn residency at OHSU. He has been board certified since 1990. Prior to accepting a faculty position at OHSU in 1992, he served in the United States Navy Medical Corps of the United States Navy. Dr. Jensen was appointed the first Leon Speroff professor of obstetrics and gynecology in 2003.

Dr. Jensen is the director of the Women's Health Research Unit, as well as vice- chair for research in the Department of Obstetrics and gynecology, and a senior scientist at the Oregon National Primate Research Center. His special clinical interests include family planning. Dr. Jensen's research focus includes preclinical investigations of new contraceptive methods using nonhuman primate models and clinical trials in contraception and abortion care. In his leisure time, Dr. Jensen enjoys birding, running, camping, biking and hiking with his family.
