J. Scott Pannell, MD, is a neurointerventional radiologist who specializes in endovascular neurosurgery and neuroradiology. Dr. Pannell focuses on the catheter-based treatment of ischemic stroke, cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, carotid stenosis, vascular tumors, and interventional management of pain associated with disorders of the spine. His research interests include ischemic stroke, endothelial injury, and simulator-based angiography training.
Dr. Pannell completed fellowships in endovascular neurosurgery and neuroradiology at UC San Diego Health. He completed his radiology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and his internship at Emory University. Dr. Pannell earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology. During his medical school training and residency, Dr. Pannell developed interest in cerebrovascular imaging and minimally invasive treatment of cerebrovascular disorders.
