Prior to joining the Regeneron Genetics Center, Reid was Research Assistant Professor at the Human Genome Sequencing Center at Baylor College of Medicine, where he led the next-generation sequencing informatics group and directed hardware and software infrastructure. Earlier, he held appointments at the University of Houston’s Department of Chemistry and at the Baylor College of Medicine’s Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
where he developed computational and analytical tools for non-coding RNA. Now Reid provides genome informatics vision and leadership for the launch of the Regeneron Genetics Center (RGC), a large-scale sequencing effort marrying exome sequence data with patient EMRs to improve patient outcomes and provide a blueprint for a future where genomics plays a central role in all aspects of drug development as well as the everyday practice of medicine. His primary responsibilities are hardware, software, and cloud infrastructure, as well as analysis pipelines and analysis tool R&D and support.
