Jeffrey Unger, MD, is the medical director of Unger Primary Care Concierge Medical Group in Rancho Cucamonga, California. He is also the director of metabolic studies at Catalina Research Institute in Montclair, California. An author of nearly 300 publications and conference presentations, Dr Unger’s research interests include type 1 and type 2 diabetes; continuous glucose monitoring and insulin pump technologies; complications and comorbidities of diabetes; and chronic health conditions such as depression, addiction, and migraine. In his work with the Catalina Research Institute, Dr Unger has been a clinical investigator on over 150 pharmaceutical clinical trials.
Unger is a Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE) and the American Board of Family Medicine and was a consensus panelist for AACE guidelines on continuous glucose monitoring and technology. He is also a member of other medical societies, including the American Diabetes Association and the National Headache Foundation. Dr Unger received his medical degree from Northwestern University (now Feinberg) School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, and completed his internship and residency in family practice at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, California.
