Jeffrey I. Mechanick MD, FACP, FACE, FACN, ECNU

Jeffrey I. Mechanick, MD, Clinical Professor of Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Bone Disease at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Director of Metabolic Support, The Mount Sinai Hospital, has been chosen as president of the American College of Endocrinology (ACE). The college is the educational and scientific arm of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE), which is the largest association of clinical endocrinologists in the world and represents more than 7,000 board-certified endocrinologists in the United States and abroad. Dr. Mechanick became president on May 29th and will hold the office for one year.

Dr. Mechanick is also Past President of the American Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists and a former member of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition (PCFSN) Science Board. He recently completed his term as Editor-in-Chief of the PCFSN journal Elevate Health and has served as Chair, Core International Committee, for the Transcultural Diabetes Nutrition Algorithm Working Group.
