Dr. Jeffrey H. Haynes, M.D., FACS, FAAP, is a highly respected surgeon, educator, and pediatric specialist at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Haynes earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the VCU School of Medicine and subsequently completed his residency in General Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University. He went on to receive advanced fellowship training in Pediatric Surgery, further specializing in surgical care for children.

Board-certified in both Pediatric Surgery and General Surgery, Dr. Haynes has built a distinguished clinical and academic career focused on delivering exceptional surgical care for infants, children, and adolescents. He serves as Chief of Pediatric Surgery, where he oversees surgical programs that integrate patient-centered care with cutting-edge clinical practices.

In addition to his clinical leadership roles, Dr. Haynes is a Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics at the VCU School of Medicine, where he is deeply involved in teaching and mentoring medical students, surgical residents, and fellows. His work bridges clinical excellence, trauma care, and pediatric surgical education, contributing to service, scholarship, and improved outcomes for families across the region.
