Dr. Friedman currently serves as Chairman of the Division of Plastic Surgery at The Methodist Hospital and Associate Professor of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at The Methodist Hospital and Weill Cornell Medical College of New York, an affiliate of The Methodist Hospital. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Friedman received his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana and his Doctor of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Friedman’s clinical interest is in plastic surgery, both reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. His research interests include the areas of Breast Reconstructive Surgery, Restorative Pelvic and Genitourinary Surgery, Correction of Congenital Breast and Pelvic Anomalies, Microsurgery and Minimally Invasive Aesthetic Surgery.

Dr. Friedman is a much sought after lecturer and educator at state, national and international meetings. He has authored and co-authored several original papers in multiple peer reviewed journals as well as several book chapters in the field of plastic surgery. His many honors and awards include, “Best Doctors in America” for 5 consecutive years (2005-2009), Outstanding Clinical Teaching Faculty, Baylor College of Medicine (2009) and Honorees, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in 2006. He serves on the Board of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and on the Board of Golfers Against Cancer. Dr. Friedman is also an active member of numerous professional societies and is currently serving as President for the Houston Society of Plastic Surgeons.
