Dr. Jeffrey A. Seiden is an accomplished pediatric emergency medicine physician and the Medical Director of Urgent Care at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). He serves as an attending physician in both Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care, providing expert acute and urgent care to infants, children, and adolescents across multiple CHOP urgent care locations and at CHOP at Virtua Voorhees Hospital.
Dr. Seiden has been with CHOP since 2006 and is renowned for his commitment to compassionate, family-centered care, helping patients navigate high-stress clinical situations with trust and confidence. He emphasizes the importance of pediatric-focused urgent care, recognizing the unique healthcare needs of children distinct from those of adults.
In addition to his clinical leadership, Dr. Seiden is a Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where he contributes to the education and training of future pediatric emergency specialists.
An experienced educator and scholar, Dr. Seiden has authored medical textbook chapters and presented nationally on a wide range of pediatric emergency and urgent care topics, including fever management, bronchiolitis, asthma, head injuries, and abdominal trauma.
He holds board certification in both Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics from the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Seiden’s academic background includes an M.D. from Yale University School of Medicine, a Master of Health Administration from the University of Cincinnati, and pediatric internship, residency, and fellowship training at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital and The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Throughout his career, Dr. Seiden has received numerous honors, including recognition in South Jersey Magazine’s “Top Docs in Emergency Medicine,” multiple Faculty Teaching Honor Roll awards at CHOP, and accolades from professional organizations for his contributions to family medicine and pediatric care.
