Dr. Jeffrey Meyerhardt is the Clinical Director and Senior Physician at the Gastrointestinal Cancer Center at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He received his medical degree from Yale School of Medicine in 1997 and completed a residency in internal medicine at Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center, in Boston, followed by a medical oncology fellowship at DFCI. He also holds a Masters of Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health in Boston.

Dr. Meyerhardt’s research focuses on the impact of diet and lifestyle on outcomes among people diagnosed with colorectal cancer. He is the principal investigator for an ongoing National Cancer Institute-sponsored clinical trial on adjuvant therapy for stage III colon cancer. He also serves as a project co-leader Gastrointestinal Cancer SPORE of Dana-Farber / Harvard Cancer Center, and the Harvard TREC grant.

Dr. Meyerhardt is an active member of ASCO, serving on multiple committees including the Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee, Conquer Cancer Foundation Grants Selection Committee, Annual Meeting Scientific Program Committee and Cancer Education Committee. He is also a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Clinical Oncology (JCO) and has co-edited two special series for the JCO on Energy Balance and Cancer and on Gastrointestinal Cancers.
