Jeannine M. Brant, Ph.D., APRN-CNS, AOCN, FAAN, is an oncology clinical nurse specialist, pain consultant and a nurse scientist for Billings Clinic in Montana. Dr. Brant’s repertoire blends her clinical expertise in pain and symptom management with her program of research that includes improving patient symptoms and focusing on nursing-sensitive indicators that lead to quality nursing and interdisciplinary care. Dr. Brant was recently a co-investigator on a study that examined pain care quality in 326 U.S. hospitals. The team also looked at the influence of credentialing on quality outcomes (in press).

Her current studies include investigating opioid-induced oversedation in hospitalized patients, testing a complex symptoms model, and investigating novel software to improve cancer survivorship care. In addition, Dr. Brant is a prolific writer with more than 75 contributions to the literature on cancer, palliative care, and pain and symptom management and is an editor of the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Standards of Oncology Nursing Practice, the ONS Core Curriculum, and the Journal of Advanced Practitioners in Oncology.
