Dr. Jeannette Anderson is Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy and Clinical Associate Professor. She joined Mercer University in 2010. She received her Doctor of Health Science Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis and her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Georgia State University. Dr. Anderson has over 35 years of experience as a physical therapist, practicing primarily in outpatient physical therapy practices in North Carolina and Georgia. She has over 18 years of experience as an educator in academic institutions. Her current teaching responsibilities include professional leadership development courses.

Her research is related to the scholarship of teaching and learning, student resilience, and the impact of clinician behavioral traits on patient outcomes. She has published and presented nationally and internationally. Dr. Anderson is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and APTA Georgia. She is currently a delegate to the APTA House of Delegates. She also serves on an American Council of Academic Physical Therapy task force that focuses on identifying best practices for academic programs to support and improve students' health and well-being throughout their academic careers. She has served as a Board member of APTA Georgia and APTA North Carolina.
