Dr. Jeanne S. Sheffield is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and the Director of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Sheffield has dedicated her career to the care of high risk pregnant women, with a focus on Infectious Diseases in pregnancy and oversees the management of HIV infected pregnant women in the OB-ID Complications Clinic. She has published over 100 peer reviewed articles, reviews and chapters and currently consults with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health and the Gates Foundation as an expert in clinical infectious diseases in pregnancy. Dr. Sheffield received her B.S. at the University of Notre Dame, in South Bend, Indiana, her medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she alsocompleted her OB/GYN residency and her Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Sheffield is the recipient of multiple honors and awards, including the Outstanding Faculty Teacher of OB/GYN Residents, and an award for Excellence in Education Class of 2009 for MS4 Core Clerkship Teacher from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She is board certified in OB/GYN and Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
