Jean-marc Cosset MD

Professor Jean-Marc Cosset successively served as Head of the Radiotherapy Department at the Gustave Roussy Institute, then Head of the Oncology/Radiotherapy Department at the Institut Curie. He joined the Amethyst Group in 2016, with the function of Medical Director for the French centers. For a long time, he was responsible for teaching Radiotherapy, Radiobiology, and Radiation Protection at the national and European levels, and was 41 times President of Science Thesis juries. Expert for the IAEA for accidental irradiations, he was from 2006 to 2012 member then vice-chairman of Committee 3 (Radiation Protection in Medicine) of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP), and was the author and co-author of several recommendations of this Commission.

Professor Jean-Marc Cosset received the 1st Lucien Mallet Prize in 1986, the CEGEFLUC Prize in 1994, the Klaas BREUR Medal at ESTRO in 2001, and the SFRO Medal (French Society of Radiotherapy Oncology) in 2013. He is particularly specialized in External radiotherapy and Brachytherapy of prostate cancer. To date, he has published 289 scientific articles, more than a hundred book chapters, and several works for the general public.
