Jean-francois Yale MD, CSPQ, FRCPC

Jean-François Yale, MD is an endocrinologist, currently Professor of Medicine in the McGill University Health Centre. Dr Yale chaired the Clinical and Scientific Section of the CDA from 1992-1994. He chaired the Expert Committee that published the 2001 Canadian Diabetes Association Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Prevention and Management of Hypoglycemia in Diabetes.

He is a member of the Steering Committee for the Canadian Diabetes Association Clinical Practice Guidelines since 1995. His research interests (188 publications) include the prevention of hypoglycemia in type 1 diabetes, intensive management of type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and he participated in numerous multicentre trials on new therapies for type 1 and type 2 diabetes, including ACCORD, ORIGIN, DREAM, INSIGHT, TECOS, SAVOR-TIMI and EXSCEL
