Jean Bousquet PhD

Dr. Jean Bousquet is a Professor of Pulmonary Medicine at the University of Montpellier in France. He received his medical degree and doctorate in pharmacy completed graduate training in Allergology and Thoracic Medicine at the Montpellier University Hospital. For many years, Professor Bousquet’s research was focused on Mediterranean allergens and allergen-specific immunotherapy. Subsequently, he became interested in asthma research, particularly in demonstrating the role of inflammation as related to disease severity. He proposed the concept of airways remodeling in asthma, which became a focus for research. He also studies the relationship between asthma and rhinitis as co-morbidities, particularly in severely affected patients. He now focuses on severe asthma.
