Jayme M. Speight is a Medical Laser Safety Officer at the Akron Children's Hospital. She completed her Master's Degree and Bachelor of Science at Walsh University. She regularly presents topics related to the Magnet Recognition Program to the Nurse Residents and Assuring Success with a Commitment to Enhance Nurse Diversity (ASCEND) students at Akron Children’s Hospital and is a BLS instructor. Through her professional practice and involvement in the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing (AAACN) advances the science of nursing through clarifying, refining, and/or expanding nursing’s knowledge base. Jayme has served as a writer and reviewer for the Lippincott Ambulatory Care Nursing Procedure Manual since 2014. When Jayme volunteered to serve as a writer for the content on pediatric telephone triage in the 2nd edition of the Core Curriculum for Care Coordination and Transition Management (CCTM) textbook, the editors replied by assigning her to contribute a Spotlight on Pediatrics for six chapters in the book. She is certified in ambulatory care nursing and is an active member of the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nurses and serves on many task forces and special interest groups.
