Jay R. Afrow DMD, MHA

Dr. Jay Afrow has been a surveyor in the Ambulatory Care Division of The Joint Commission since 2003. He is also the Executive Director of Clinical Compliance at Wentworth Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH. Dr. Afrow has been involved in many aspects of ambulatory health care for over 25 years. These settings have included community health, college health, private practice and a full time faculty member at both Tufts and Harvard University Schools of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Afrow has provided numerous lectures on topics related to accreditation and patient safety in the ambulatory setting. Dr. Afrow earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Connecticut, a Master’s in Health Administration from the University of New Hampshire, and did his residency in hospital dentistry at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
