Dr. Jay Danto is the Associate Dean of Osteopathic Integration & Interim Chair of the Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Department at D'Youville University - proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine. Currently, he is undergoing the state licensing process in New York and Michigan. He earned both his Bachelor of Science in Psychology and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University (MSU).  Dr. Danto has over a dozen years in clinical practice and a dozen years in academic medicine. He has educated osteopathic medical students and physicians at all levels of training and experience. He has been a residency program director, Department Chair, Department faculty, and a national and international lecturer. He is dually boarded in Family Practice and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, as well as Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (NMM).  He completed his internship and residency at St. John-Oakland Hospital in Madison Heights, Michigan.

 

Dr. Danto continues to serve on national committees for the American Academy of Osteopathy and participates as a COMLEX author and reviewer for multiple osteopathic medical board examinations. He has been honored for his dedication to postgraduate education and to the Osteopathic Profession.

 

Danto has authored numerous articles, books, and presentations, including “Normalization of Muscle Function,” which is currently a resource for board certification. To facilitate the integration of the concepts of Positive Psychology into patient care, Dr. Danto wrote “Your Guided Journey to a Happier Life.” He also serves as a peer reviewer for the American Academy of Osteopathy Journal.
