Javier Tapia Balladares is a Professor of developmental psychology, research methodology, educational psychology, and psychology of religion. He obtained a degree in Psychology from the University of Costa Rica and a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology and Psychology of Religion from the Université Catholique de Louvain, in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, under the direction of Pr. Jean-Marie Gaspard. He has been deputy director of the Institute for Psychological Research and director of the Revista Actualidades en Psicologa. Among his research interests are the psychology of identity development and attachment, in adolescence and childhood; the ideographic and dynamic methodology; socialization and psycho-religious development; and evaluative research in education.
