Dr. Javier is a specialist in Preventive Medicine and Public Health. Doctor in Medicine and Surgery from the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU). Certificate of Higher Specialization (CES) in Dietetics and Human Nutrition from the University of Nancy (France), Diploma in Nutrition from the Universities of Madrid and Granada. Master in the Nutrition Autonomous University of Barcelona. Doctor in Nutrition (PhD) from the University of Perugia (Italy) and Master in Public Health from the UPV / EHU. Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) and Doctor in Journalism from the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU).

He currently serves as a professor of Community Nutrition at the University of Navarra (Associate Professor ANECA) and as a visiting professor at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. He teaches the Chair of Food and Nutrition “Dr. Javier Aranceta “at the Autonomous Metropolitan University of Mexico (UAM) and the International Hydration Chair at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where he is director of research projects for Latin America. He also works as an academic collaborator for research in the Department of Physiology of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of the Basque Country and is an Honorary Member of the Institute of Nutrition and Food Technology of the University of Granada. He is director of the Nutritional Study of the Spanish Population (ENPE, 2014-2020) and a member of the research team of the ANIBES Study.
