Jason Zhang PhD

Since May 2016, Jason Zhang has served as Wave's Director, Biology, moving multiple drug candidates from concepts into Phase I clinical trilas. With over 10-years of industry related research experience, Jason has led multi-functional teams of research and translationsl scientists focused on drug discovery and development projects that range from preclinical to phase III stages (Wave Life Sci, Sanofi, Novartis). Dr. Zhang has also led successful collaborations with pharma and academia labs inculding Pfizer, Harvard, and Univerisity of Oxford.
Dr. Zhang is experinced in developing modality covering oligonucleotides, small molecules and antibodies. in addition he has over 20 publications in high-ipact research journals, including Nature Biotech, Nature, Journal of Medicianl chemisry, and over 10 patents covering antibodies, small molecules, oligonucleotides in oncology, immunology, neurology, neuromuscular and hepatic metabolism disease areas. Jason received his PhD in immunology and pharmacology from New York University, and completed postdoc training in biology as presidential postdoc at Novartis and Harvard. He also received his PhD in Organic and medicinal chemistry from Peking Union Medical College in Beijing, and completed postdoc training in Chemistry at Yale.
