Dr. Jason Nydick is a Florida native, born and raised in Sarasota. He received his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He completed orthopedic surgery residency training in Philadelphia at PCOM. He then completed a hand and upper extremity fellowship at Tampa General Hospital and Shriners Hospital with Florida Orthopaedic Institute. He served in the United States Navy at Pensacola Naval Hospital from 2011-2014, including deployment to Kandahar Multinational Role 3 Combat Hospital in Afghanistan. He is board-certified in orthopedic surgery with certification in the subspecialty of surgery of the hand.
Dr. Nydick specializes in hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder surgery. He has special interests in upper extremity trauma care and soft tissue reconstruction including microsurgery. He also specializes in arthroscopy and joint replacement of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. He has specialized training in Dupuytren disease including percutaneous needle aponeurotomy, collagenase (Xiaflex) injection and surgical care. He is an active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the American Association for Hand Surgery, the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, and Arthroscopy Association of North America. He is a fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopaedics and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
