Janos Urbancsek MD, PhD, DSc

Dr. János Urbancsek is professor and head of the Division of Assisted Reproduction, Department of OB/GYN, Semmelweis University, Faculty of Medicine in Budapest. He has graduated the Semmelweis University, Medical School in Budapest (1982) and was trained for OB/GYN also in Budapest (1982-1986) and for Gynaecological Endocrinology and Reproductive Medicine in Heidelberg (1987-1992) and in Norfolk (1992). His scientific recognitions are MD (Budapest 1982, Heidelberg 1989), PhD (Budapest, 1991) and DSc (Budapest 2006). The main fields of his interest are assisted reproduction, endocrinological changes during stimulated cycles, use of GnRH-analogues for ovarian stimulation, intraovarian regulation of follicle development (inhibin, IGF, leptin), assessment of ovarian capacity and luteal support of stimulated cycle.
