Janneke G.j. Hoeijmakers MD, PhD

Dr. Janneke G.J. Hoeijmakers is a neuromuscular neurologist at the Maastricht University Medical Center, Maastricht, the Netherlands. Her Ph.D. thesis was about sodium channelopathies in small fiber neuropathy. The paper ‘Gain of function NaV1.7 mutations in idiopathic small fiber neuropathy’ was awarded the Prinses Beatrix Spierfonds year prize and granted the 2013 Annals of Neurology Prize ‘for a distinguished contribution to clinical neuroscience’. She guides Ph.D. students on projects about the diagnostics, etiology, pathophysiology, and treatment of painful neuropathies, and participates as a co-supervisor in the H2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions PAIN-Net project.
