Janna M. Welch MD

Dr. Janna Welch, MD, is an emergency physician practicing in Austin and an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School. She served as the assistant program director for the emergency medicine residency at Dell Medical School from 2011 to 2018. Dr. Welch has spent the past 10 years as a medical forensic expert witness for Physicians for Human Rights, local law schools, and nonprofits, examining and advocating for refugees applying for asylum in the United States.
