Janine S. Douglas received her Pharm.D. degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C. She then completed a PGY1 pharmacy residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York, followed by a PGY2 drug information residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. After completing her postgraduate training, Dr. Douglas began her career in academia at the University of Saint Joseph, where she taught drug information and literature evaluation.
In addition, she established a clinical practice in internal medicine, where she precepted pharmacy students. She then joined the faculty of Wingate University School of Pharmacy as the director of biomedical informatics and assistant professor of pharmacy practice. She served as a preceptor for PGY1 residents at Carolinas Medical Center and the medical information fellow at Fresenius Medical Care. She is currently a Drug Information Clinical Specialist in Houston, TX.
