Dr. Janet Serle is Professor of Ophthalmology and the Director of both the Glaucoma Clinical and Research Fellowships at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She has been a member of the full-time faculty at Mount Sinai since 1985.
Dr. Serle graduated from Harvard Medical School and did her internship in general surgery at Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. She then did a glaucoma research fellowship, a residency in ophthalmology, and a glaucoma clinical fellowship at the Mount Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Serle has received numerous awards, including an Honor Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Serle has been a Principal Investigator on more than 25 N.I.H. or industry sponsored research grants and has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles and chapters. Dr. Serle's research includes investigations of new medications, new surgical treatments, use of technology, and outcomes of treatment for glaucoma.
