Dr Jane Sosabowski is a Reader in Molecular Imaging at Barts Cancer Institute, Queen Mary University of London. She leads the Cancer Imaging Laboratory at BCI, a team of researchers with radiochemistry, biology, and preclinical imaging expertise. Her team works on the application of radiolabelled peptides, antibodies, and other carriers for imaging and molecular radiotherapy in preclinical models and translation to the clinic. She is particularly interested in bringing novel therapy radionuclides into clinical use in the UK and belongs to the CRUK RadNet City of London collaborative composed of 3 major London universities (UCL, KCL, QMUL), the Crick, two Academic Health Science Partnerships (UCLP and KHP) and In collaboration with researchers at KCL and the UK National Nuclear Laboratory, Dr Sosabowski leads on a project that aims to re-establish the UK supply of radionuclides used in health and medicine. This advocacy project engages with academics, industry, professional organizations, government departments, charities, and patient groups to highlight the need for a robust and sustainable domestic supply of radionuclides for medicine to deliver the novel cancer radiopharmaceutical therapies of the future.
