Jane Halliday is a Consultant Neurosurgeon, sub-specializing in skull base and pituitary, based at the John Radcliffe Hospital. In this role she cares for patients with a wide variety of skull base, and pituitary lesions, manages the emergency care of Neurosurgical patients and is a core member of the Neurofibromatosis Type-2 team. She regularly performs translabyrinthine, retrosigmoid approaches for vestibular schwannoma resection, general skull base tumour resections and endoscopic pituitary resection, as well as performing oncological, spinal and emergency neurosurgical procedures. She graduated with first class honours from the University of Cambridge and after completing her foundation training in NHS Lothian she went on to secure a neurosurgical training position in the North-West of England. On completion of her core neurosurgical training there she was competitively appointed into the Oxford RCS approved Anterior Skull Base and Pituitary fellowship. Following this, in 2018, she was appointed as a Consultant at the John Radcliffe Hospital Oxford. She is dedicated to the wellbeing of her patients and team. This is reflected in her post-graduate studies, departmental awards for teaching, a university teaching role and formal and informal mentorship roles as well as clinical research awards, regular presentations and publications. She has undertaken an MSc in healthcare leadership and has taken on a number of leadership projects and roles, most recently as infection lead for the adult neurosurgical team.
