Dr. Jan Gralla is a specialist in Neuroradiology, Senior Consultant, and Director of the Institute at the University Institute of Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology at the Inselspital of the University Hospital, Berne. Prof. Gralla is a specialist radiologist focusing on “diagnostic neuroradiology”, “invasive neuroradiology” and “invasive pain therapy”. He heads a large team of leading doctors, consultants, registrars, radiographers, nurses, as well as physicists and computer scientists.
Prof. Gralla, the Institute utilizes computer tomography (CT), magnetic resonance tomography (MRT), angiography, and digital volume tomography (DVT). A NIRS-EEG system (imaging technique for measuring brain activity), which combines the near-infrared spectroscopy technique with an EEG (electroencephalogram), is also available to the team of neuroradiology specialists for further investigations.
Prof. Gralla’s special treatment emphasis is the minimally invasive treatment of complex aneurysms of the cerebral arteries, vascular malformations (venous angiomata, AVM, and fistulas) of the brain, face, neck, and spinal column, as well as the embolization of tumors.
