Jan Benes MD, PhD

Jan Benes is currently working as Associate Professor at Charles University, Czech Republic. He is specialized in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine. His clinical interests are Mechanical Ventilation, Sepsis, Intensive Care Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Ventilation, and Anesthesiology.

After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen, Charles University, he joined the Department of Anesthesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive Medicine of the FN Pilsen. From the beginning, in addition to his regular clinical work, he devoted himself to a number of research tasks in the field of hemodynamics and sepsis. After certification in the field of Anesthesiology-resuscitation, he started working as an assistant at the Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen.

In 2012, he defended his Ph.D. on the subject of Hemodynamics in the early phase of critical conditions and subsequently became a docent in the field of Anesthesiology and intensive care medicine in 2015.

He is a member of the committee of the Czech Society of Intensive Medicine and a member of the accreditation commission for the field of Anesthesiology and Intensive Medicine at the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic.
