Jamie is passionate about promoting the health and well-being of family caregivers. She works collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to conduct research focusing on the development of theoretically- and empirically-based psychosocial and behavioral interventions to maintain and improve caregiver health. She is currently developing and evaluating a home-based physical activity intervention as one means with which to promote the health of family caregivers of people with advanced cancer. Jamie held a research fellowship in the Psychosocial Oncology Research Training program through the CIHR Strategic Training Initiative in Health Research. She is a member of the International Palliative Care Family Carer Research Collaboration and has presented and published her research at the local, national, and international levels. Currently, she teaches an undergraduate-level course in Supportive & Palliative Care and is interested in working with students focused on family caregiving, psychosocial oncology, and palliative and end-of-life care.
