James is a professional member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM). He is also one of the founding members and president of the Asian Society of Lifestyle Medicine (ASLM). His main interest is to collaborate service organizations in the field of health and lifestyle medicine. Preparing competent workers via education and coaching for the sustainability of lifestyle medicine is his aspiration.

James got his Bachelor in Liberal Arts major in Religious Philosophy at Spicer Memorial College, Pune, India. After 10 years of services in Hong Kong, he got his master degrees at Loma Linda University, California, with a Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) in International Health, and Master of Public Health (MPH) in Health Administration. After another 15 years of service career in health, church ministry, and hospital administration, James obtained his PhD in Leadership and Administration at Andrews University, Michigan, USA. James’ research was on collaborative leadership in the implementation of Adventist lifestyle programs.

James’ career experience has two streams. First is in faith-based service organizations that include local church pastoring, hospital chaplaincy, and community health and social services. Second is in leadership and administration that include local and union conferences, educational and medical institutions. He served 10 years as union president of Chinese Union Mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was 6 years vice-president for administration at Taiwan Adventist Hospital, and 4 years vice-president for lifestyle and spiritual affairs at Hong Kong Adventist Hospital. He served 10 years as chair of the board of directors of Taiwan and Hong Kong Adventist Hospitals. He was board chair of Adventist Development and Relief Agent (ADRA). Presently, James is the CEO of Taiwan San Yu Health Education and Management Center, and the assistant professor in Health, Business, and Religion Departments at Taiwan Adventist College.
