James currently jointly appointed at the BSU, as a Programme Leader Track, and at Newcastle University, as a Professor of Biostatistics. He began his research career at the BSU in 2006 as a PhD student, looking at multi-locus methods for genome-wide association studies, supervised by Prof Frank Dudbridge. Since then he progressed on to being a Research Statistician in 2009 and then a Senior Investigator Statistician in 2012, working on clinical trials methodology within the Design and Analysis of Randomised Trials research theme at BSU. He was appointed as a Programme Leader Track in November 2015.
