Dr. McNabb graduated with his medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa before completing his training at Scottsdale Memorial Family Practice Residency Program in Scottsdale, Arizona. He then began a solo practice in rural North Carolina and remained there for 8 years. Next, he transitioned to academic medicine at the University of Wyoming in Casper as an assistant professor, and subsequently served as Assistant Director of the Scottsdale Healthcare Family Practice Residency in Scottsdale Arizona. While in Arizona, he completed a Faculty Development Fellowship at the University of Arizona. Next his family returned to North Carolina where he was Associate Director of the Cabarrus Family Medicine Residency Program in Concord. While there, he completed the National Institute of Program Director Development fellowship from the AAFP. In 2001, he returned to private practice as a solo family physician at Full Circle Family Medicine of Piedmont HealthCare in Mooresville, North Carolina.
He currently holds an academic appointment as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina, Department of Family Medicine, School of Medicine. He has a busy practice that encompasses the full range of Family Medicine outpatient skills. Dr. McNabb also teaches medical students/residents, lectures and is a medical author. The third edition of his book, "A Practical Guide to Joint and Soft Tissue Injection and Aspiration" was published in December 2014 by Wolters Kluwer Health. In 2005, the first edition was recognized as the first place winner in the physician's category by the American Medical Writers Association. In addition to dermatologic skills, he has expertise in aesthetic medicine and musculoskeletal disorders. Dr. McNabb was born in St. Louis and raised in Hannibal, Missouri. His wife, Liz, is a registered nurse and works in the office.
