Jim Delizia is a principal of Delizia Consulting Services and has been providing facilitation, consultation, and development services to the non-profit and public sectors for 25 years. Prior to opening his own consulting practice, Jim served as senior staff vice president of the National Association of Home Builders, a large trade association, overseeing strategic planning, chapter relations, membership and leadership development, marketing, publications, and member education.

Jim is an active volunteer leader. He has served on the board of directors, as chairman of the Membership Section, and as a founding member of the Component Relations Section of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). Jim has also served on the board of directors of the California Society of Association Executives (CalSAE) and for several terms in the position of Industry Partner Vice-Chair. Jim has contributed to the knowledge of non-profit organization management as chief editor of two publications on national-chapter relations and membership retention, has authored numerous articles, and is a frequent speaker on non-profit governance, strategic planning, leadership, training, and facilitation.

Jim holds a master’s degree in English Literature from the University of Maryland. In 1990, Jim earned the designation of Certified Association Executive (CAE) through ASAE. He is a trained focus group moderator and has received instruction in negotiation and conflict resolution through the Harvard Negotiation Project.
