James O’Hara, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant and Electrophysiology APP Lead and Technical Director of Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDs) at Virginia Heart. He brings over 20 years of experience in cardiac electrophysiology and provides care across Virginia Heart offices and affiliated hospitals, including Inova Fairfax, Inova Alexandria, Inova Loudoun, and Virginia Hospital Center.

James earned his master’s degree in Health Studies from the George Washington University and has a strong background in physics, which contributed to his interest in cardiac electrophysiology and the heart’s conduction system.

He is a member of several Heart Rhythm Society committees and a graduate of the inaugural LEAP program. His areas of expertise include cardiac resynchronization therapy, electrical optimization, arrhythmia management, and patient education. He is dedicated to helping patients better understand their arrhythmias and improve their overall heart health.
