James R. Bean MD

James R. Bean, born on April 24, 1948, is a neurosurgeon who practices in a four-physician private Neurosurgical practice in Lexington, Ky. He received a B.A. degree with a major in English literature from the University of Virginia in 1970 and an M.D. degree in 1974 from Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans, La.

He received Neurosurgical residency training at the University of Kentucky (Lexington, Ky.) from 1975 – 1980 and was certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery in 1983. He served on the academic faculty at the University of Kentucky from 1980 - 1982 and joined his current practice, Neurosurgical Associates (Lexington, Ky.), in 1982. Bean is President and Managing Director of Neurosurgical Associates, a private Neurosurgical group practice in Lexington, Ky.
