James Quentin Clemens MD

Dr. Clemens has published over 160 peer-reviewed manuscripts, review articles, invited editorials, and book chapters. He has had funded research in the past with NIDDK in the areas of chronic prostatitis, epidemiology of chronic pelvic pain, interstitial cystitis and painful bladder syndrome. He currently has funded research with the NIDDK as the Principal Investigator for the University of Michigan LURN Research Site and Co-Principal Investigator for the University of Michigan MAPP Research Network. His current research focus has been on epidemiology and health services research related to benign urologic diseases, health policy, and quality of care assessment in urology. His clinical interests include female urinary incontinence, complex fistulas and erosions, lower urinary tract reconstruction using bowel segments, bladder dysfunction due to neurologic disease, videourodynamic evaluation of complex lower urinary tract dysfunction, and interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome.
