James Mack is an Associate Professor of Chemistry. After completing his bachelor's degree at Middlebury College in 1995 he went to graduate school at the University of New Hampshire where he conducted his doctoral research under the supervision of Glen P. Miller working in the area of fullerenes. After earning his doctoral degree in 2000, he was a postdoctoral fellow with Lawrence T. Scott developing a benchtop synthesis of fullerenes and nanotubes. Since joining the faculty at the University of Cincinnati in 2003, Professor Mack has been interested in the development of environmentally benign organic reactions and the synthesis of novel organic materials.
