James (jamie) S. Newman MD, MHA, MACP, SFHM

Dr. Jamie Newman is the Chair of Hospital Optimization and Medical Director of the Midwest Admissions and Transfer Center at the Mayo Clinic. He is a Hospitalist. He teaches Medical History, Medical Simulation, and Hospital Medicine CME. He is originally from Brooklyn, New York, and was an undergraduate at the Johns Hopkins University, and attended medical school at the Mayo Medical School, graduating in 1985. He subsequently trained at the Baylor College of Medicine and is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. He also attended the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota for his Masters in Healthcare Administration. He also has achieved the rank of Master of the American College of Physicians.
