James J. Foody MD

Jim Foody earned a Bachelor of Science degree cum laude in biochemistry from the University of Illinois in Chicago and his MD from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He completed residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago Hospitals. After a service obligation to the National Health Service he joined the faculty at the University of Chicago. Among other positions, he was Chief of General Internal Medicine and Medical Director of the University of Chicago Physicians Group.

He is currently the Vice Chairman of Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and practices in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. The residents at Northwestern voted him the Roy Patterson Award for teaching excellence. In 2014 they elected him to the Teaching Hall of Fame for the Department of Medicine.
