James Golden PhD

Golden is the Medicaid Director at the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS). He oversees Minnesota’s health care programs, including Medicaid and MinnesotaCare. DHS is one of the largest health care purchasers in Minnesota serving more than 900,000 program enrollees.

Prior to becoming the Medicaid Director, Dr. Golden was the Deputy Assistant Commissioner for Health Care with responsibility for eligibility and benefit policy, data initiatives, and integration of Minnesota public health care programs into Minnesota’s Health Insurance Exchange.
